I know we all want to stay healthy during flu season. I was taken down hard by the flu. (read all about it here https://kentuckyketocoach.com/2019/02/11/admitting-defeat/ )
I have always used these types of vitamin C booster packs for helping to boost my immune system during the winter. Until I started keto two years ago, I thought that the Emergen-C packs where the way to go! I was soooo wrong.
MUST READ THE LABEL!
HIDDEN SUGAR is a huge problem. Here is a little education about reading the label and understanding glycemic index.

When doing a ketogenic lifestyle, It comes down to paying attention to all the little things that add up. Sugar is the enemy and focus should be on food that has little or no spike on the glycemic index. I focus on less than 10 grams of sugar per day.
However, I know it’s cold and flu season and people are wanting an immune boost of vitamin C. Here is an example of two different C boosters. Clearly one is better for our bodies than the other. The amount of vitamin C is the same (1000 mg) per packet… but the first ingredient on the top one is FRUCTOSE! The glycemic index of that is 25. The second ingredient is MALTODEXTRIN! The glycemic index of that is 110! Glucose (regular table sugar) is 100… for perspective. This is extremely high on the index for it to be approved for Keto. Even if you only read the label and not the ingredients list…. 6 Grams is more than HALF of your daily allowance and do you really want to waste it on a powder? I ALWAYS FIND AN ALTERNATIVE. Here I show Dr. Price’s… no added sugar. It just takes a little searching to change your life! I can help. Check out www.kyketo.com for more helpful products information.
